It has been quite some time since we've seen Mel Gibson take a walk down the red carpet, but the time has come.
Gibson attended the premiere of his new film, 'The Beaver' at the 64th Cannes Film Festival arm-in-arm with his co-star, Jodie Foster.
The two stayed close as they made their way to the theater and their body language suggests Foster doesn't have the same feelings toward Gibson as most. The pair looked as happy and carefree as can be as they posed for photographers and the media.
Gibson's wacky behavior, which led to his seclusion, over the last few years has made him the punch line of many jokes and the focus of multiple legal inquiries.
Just last month he spoke out for the first time about the recordings between himself and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, insisting that he is not a violent, racist, sexist or homophobic person.
Perhaps Foster can see the good her in her co-star, she spoke about his performance saying, "we just have to keep our eye on the fact that he delivers probably one of the best performances of his life."
Take a look at some photos of Gibson's return to the red carpet below.
