Celebuzz talked to the La Femme design team bout their inspirations, plus they reveals some important fashion rules to follow!
How do TV & film inspire your style, especially Dancing with the Stars?
La Femme is constantly inspired by the glamorous dresses that celebrities wear on TV and the red carpet. The costumes worn on DWTS inspires us to push the boundaries of fashion by stripping away the most costume-like aspects and making a beautiful dress that anyone can wear for any occasion. Inspiration for the DWTS line can be anything from a color to the beading or the fabrication worn on the DWTS show.
What are your favorite dresses to design?
Some of our favorite dresses to design are full, flowing, floor-length chiffon gowns with intricate beading. Sexy cutouts are always a favorite, along with the every occasion cocktail dress.
Can you give us a few “fashion rules” to follow?
When wearing an evening dress, do not go overboard on the jewelry. It is always best to keep it simple when a dress has beading. When the dress has little to no beading, take a risk and wear some unique jewelry. Dress up a black cocktail dress with a colored shoe. When you don’t know what color shoe to wear, go with nude — it matches everything! When matching a purse with a special occasion dress, pick out a simple clutch; patent leather is a hot trend and you can use it for other outfits.
Summer is upon us! What red-carpet trends should we be on the lookout for?
Be on the lookout for bright colors! Cocktail and high-low dresses are also a trend to watch out for.
