Personally, I like the grain - and i think it would look great with just a touch more, it's subtle - but it gives the photograph lots of character.

If you bought it in the last two weeks and it's still in the box...yes.
Once it's out of the box it's not in perfect condition anymore.

I've been testing out the Find My iPhone app for my iPad 2 (AT&T 3G). I have cellular data turned on but have not subscribed to AT&T's data service. GPS is working. Back home on my own wifi network, me.com can locate my iPad 2.

Sitting in the public library, I have my iPad 2 connected to the library's Wifi network. On my computer, I login to me.com to see if I can locate the iPad 2 and it can't. It made me think that perhaps the library's wifi system is not allowing me.com to backtrace to get to the iPad 2. Do you think that's happening?

I don't plan to buy cellular data service on the iPad 2 except maybe once a year for a month so am I screwed that Find My iPhone isn't going to work unless I buy cellular data?

    Thanks!

The new macbook pro's were just recently released, so they won't be updated now for a few months, probably april of 2012 is when you'll see another update.

Not true, Apple usually has an update in the fall months for the MBPs. As other's have stated if you need it now, buy now. There is some talk of a redesign of the macbook pros, so who know is in store. That said new versions can sometimes have some quirks that need to be worked out as well.

Im not just bidding on the receipt or a picture, right? ;)

it sucks that there are people out there who actually try to pull scams like this and sometimes even get away with it.

    sickening... :(

BUT, as i say in the auction, BID WITH CONFIDENCE! :)

SMP2 will also bring a bonus to crunch units faster, same as bigadv scheme.

I wonder if they are getting something under the table from Nvidia/AMD to get people to spend money on new GPU's

And speaking of GPU's one of my GTX 275 is not working, I will have to get it registered and rma'd. And the one that is working is getting 8900 ppd which from what I have seen is better than what the gtx 295's are getting? Maybe I'm wrong... 2 more will be here tomorrow! with psu's!

    Interesting indeed.

I originally thought Apple would of took up a space at Silverburn Shopping Centre, but they will probably be getting a better rate on rental at Braehead.

Shame for Edinburgh yeah, but at least now when new stuff comes out, we have two stores we can reserve at ;)

    Edit:
Seems this news should of leaked out 2 days ago. Job postings here -

Plus many more jobs available for other positions. Get applying! :P

. I'm actually more prone to just downloading a save file from Gamefaqs and just driving about.

yep same here. and messing about with the cheat codes.

For next gen GTA - they really need deformable landscapes and more buildings to enter.

Sorry you disagree, but it's a fact of life... the MP3 format does not support gapless playback inherently, so to speak. Here is a link to an aticle discuss the problem and the solutions to it. http://www.pretentiousname.com/mp3players/ and also a quote from the article, in case someone doesn't want to read it: The MP3 format has inherent flaws which, unless worked around, mean it cannot move seamlessly from one track to the next without adding silence or at least a click. The article then goes into some formats that do support gapless playback (AAC and OGG, for example), and some of the 'hacks' and tricks that players COULD use (but most, including the iPod) to fix the MP3 gapless playback issues.

Since the iPod can't play OGG files (hoping for this in the next revision, like all SLashdotters ;-) ), AAC is the best choice for gapless playback on the iPod.

    Rob

EDIT: The author of that article mentions that he is unsure of wether AAC supports gapless playback. I THOUGHT that it did, but I could be wrong, so using AAC may or may not fix this ploblem. I'll try to look into it further what formats support gapless playback that are also supported by the iPod. He goes om further to say that the iPod doesn't support any gapless playback, so it may be that my search for an answer will be in vein.

Oh, how I wish iTunes would support several genres... :(
It does. Just use commas to separate them, and you can call upon either with a smart playlist. I have six main genres: pop, rock, dance, jazz, blues and classical. Within those genres, I have several subgenres: alternative, hip-hop, trip-hop, ambient, new wave, r&b, cabaret, live, soundtrack, folk, psychedelic, and some others. My six main genres are also used as subgenres when a song belongs to multiple genres. Examples: Kasabian (rock and dance), Marvin Gaye (pop and blues), Hot Chip (pop and dance), Norah Jones (pop and jazz), Madrugada (pop and rock), Craig Armstrong (dance and classical), and so on.

Then, when setting up a smart playlist that includes all songs with the genre pop, of the examples I used above both Marvin Gaye, Hot Chip, Norah Jones and Madrugada pop up. When setting up a smart playlist for rock, only Kasabian and Madrugada are included. Really easy, yet quite powerful.

Ok, so the real reason why Apple wouldn't want you to see this review is because it's a parody of their upcoming iPad 2, which will reportedly be announced next week. However, this 27-inch iMac-sized device does have its advantages, like a 1080p camera. Continue reading for the parody.

Sounds very odd and seems like there's a definite problem with that music file. You might be able trying to delete it from Terminal but I'm not sure what that command would be.

Did you try going in as a new User (without access to shared music) and trying iTunes from there? And if OK, giving access to the music, and seeing what happens?

I also wonder whether downloading iTunes separately from the Apple site and re-installing just that might do any good?

Remember an Archive and Restore will have kept all his user settings/files, and if that's where the problem lay, the problem will still be there. It might be worth using iPodrip to get all his music backed up (and checking it's all there) - then trashing the iTunes folder completely and dragging in all files other than the one you previously identified the problem with.
