Smart, Funny, and Irreverant- You Have To See "Tea Party Jesus".
A few days ago I posted the a video of conservative Christian (and 21st century Annie Oakley) congressional candidate Pamela Gorman, and the question was asked....what's with the this conservative Christian fascination with firearms and ammo and more firearms and the Second Amendment and more firearms?
Well, one of my online blogger friends (who runs a non-political blog) sent me a link that explains it better than I could. It's Tea Party Jesus, which uses works of art and stills from motion pictures to have the words of (allegedly) Christian conservative types come directly from the mouth of Jesus Christ.
Quoted are the usual right wing gasbags; Ann Coulter, Michelle Bachmann, Rush Limbaugh, and Tom Tancredo, for example. Above you'll see an example of what you'll find- a quote by Glenn Beck as spoken by Jesus. The quote was a reference to Beck's contempt for the complaints of the victims of Hurricane Katrina, whom he grew to hate faster than families of 9-11. Funny....the nuns and priests always told me God and Christianity was about love.
Amen.
Each picture links to the site from which the original quote was taken, all legitimate publications attributed to working journalists.
Amen (again).
Anyway, if you're offended by parody that some may find offensive, than stay away. But if you want to take a look and laugh at some of the hypocrisy of the right, then take a peek at Tea Party Jesus.
Amen.....and over n' out.

Former 2008 GOP Presidential Candidate Tancredo Opens Tea Party Convention
Former Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Co) opened the first Tea Party Convention in Nashville with a slam against immigrants and the President of the United States.
He made the following statement at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center (from CNN.com)....
The former congressman from Colorado and 2008 Republican presidential candidate blasted President Obama, saying "people who could not even spell the word 'vote', or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House. His name is Barack Hussein Obama."
This isn't the first time this blog has spoken about the super patriotic Nativist Tancredo. Last year Tancredo stormed off the set while being a guest on MSNBC. Tancredo claimed to be insulted by DAILY KOS founder Markos Moulitsas on the show when Moulitsas mentioned that Tancredo asked for and received a draft deferrment during the Vietnam War. Tancredo was a Republican student activist who supported the war but did not serve because he told doctors he'd been treated for depression and received a "1-Y" draft deferment.
A few years ago Mr. Tancredo had this solution to ending the threat of terrorists attacks in the United States by Muslim extremists....bomb the Muslim Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina.
In the interest of full disclosure, I did serve in the military during the final two years of the Vietnam War. Also, I will tell you that while I served I did not see combat. That being said, I wouldn't mind Tom Tancredo and his draft deferment if he wasn't then, as he is now, such a pathetic hypocrite.
Another conservative Chicken Hawk, a cheerleader for others to risk their lives, kill or be killed....just as long as it isn't his sorry ass on the line.
With people like Mr. Tancredo, and the former Governor of Alaska as their shining stars, the Tea Bag Party are following the footsteps of another movement in American history.
The No-Nothings.

Former GOP Congressman Walks Out of MSNBC Interview
Former Colorado Congressman and candidate for the Republican Presidential nomination for 2008 Tom Tancredo walked off the set of MSNBC's The Ed Show, with David Shuster subbing for host Ed Schultz after a discussion about Thursday's staged anti healthcare event on the Capitol's steps turned into an on the set argument with Daily Kos's Markos Moulitas.
Tancredo wouldn't criticize Republican leaders who appeared and spoke at the so called "press conference", which was in opposition to healthcare reform. When Moulitas defended government healthcare programs like the Veteran's Administration, Tancredo answered that veterans would rather have choice, like a voucher system.
Then this exchange occurred (from The Huffington Post).

An article from The Denver Post.com (originally posted 11/27/05 and updated 9/04/06) said the following about Tom Tancredo during his college years during the Vietnam War era....
Soon afterward Tancredo became a junior high school teacher. In 1976 he ran and won a seat in the State House of Representatives in Colorado.
(For the record and in the interest of full disclosure, this writer served in the United States Air Force for 4.5 years during that same era. The United States was involved in combat operations in Vietnam during the first two of those years).

"Tom, I'm a veteran. Okay?" Moulitas responded. "I did not get a deferment because I was too depressed to fight a war I supported in Vietnam. I'm a veteran. They want a more effective V.A. ..."
"You're not going to do that. You're not going to try to insult me that way and then pretend like we're just going on and talk about that. You either apologize ..." When Moulitas did not apologize, Tancredo simply took out his earpiece and walked away.
As a Republican student activist, Tancredo spoke out in favor of the Vietnam War but did not serve.

"As a Republican student activist, Tancredo spoke out in favor of the Vietnam War. After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in June 1969, he became eligible to serve in Vietnam.
