Roy Halladay No Hits Reds in Game One NL Division Series, 4-0!
To channel the late Harry Caray (and Phil Rizzuto).....holy cow!
Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies has pitched only the second post season no hitter in the history of baseball, 4-0 tonight against the Cincinnati Reds. The first post season no-hitter was Don Larsen's perfect game in 1956.
Halladay only allowed one batter to reach base, a 5th inning walk by the Reds Jay Bruce.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!!
The New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 to win their 27th World Series title.
Yankee starter Andy Pettitte went five and two thirds innings on short rest and gave up three runs, two on a home run by Phillies slugger Ryan Howard. The bullpen of Joba Chamberlain, Damaso Marte, and closer Mariano Rivera pitched scoreless baseball the rest of the way.
Yankee DH Hideki Matsui slugged a two run homer, a two run double, and a two run single, to tie Bobby Richardson for most RBI's in a single World Series game (1960, Yankees).
The Yankee Core of Four- Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, and and Andy Pettitte won their fifth World title as teammates (1996, 1998-2000, 2009).
Hideki Matsui was named the MVP of the Series, the first full time DH to win the trophy.

Game 6 of 2009 World Series- Batter Up!
A pivotal six game of the 2009 World Series kicks off in a few hours between the defending world champion Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees. Andy Pettitte pitches for New York on short rest, and the man Yankee fans love to hate, the great Pedro Martinez starts for the Phils. The Yanks lead, 3-2.
Will the Yanks sew it up tonight? Or will the Phillies come back to even the series at three apiece? Can Chase Utley hit a record sixth World Series home run? Will Ryan Howard ever get any kind of hit for the Phillies? Can Mariano Rivera come in for three innings to close it out for the Yankees? And how dirty will Johnny Damon's uniform get in this one?
Seeya later!

Yankees Win, Beat Phillies 7-4; Have A 3-1 Lead in "Jersey Turnpike" Series
The score was tied 4-4 in the top of the ninth with two out. Yankee leftfielder Johnny Damon singled, then stole second and third. Mark Teixeira was hit by a pitch from Phillies reliever Brad Lidge. Alex Rodriguez doubled, driving in Damon, with Teixeira going to third. Jorge Posada singled, driving in Teixeira and Rodriguez, but was thrown out at second.
That made it 7-4 Yankees. That was all that was needed.
Mariano Rivera pitched a perfect ninth, giving Joba Chamberlain the win in relief, Lidge took the loss. The Yankees lead the Series, 3-1.
Tonight, in what has become an elimination game for the Phillies, Game 2 starter AJ Burnett will face Game 1 starter Cliff Lee from Citizen's Bank Ball Park in Philadelphia for Game 5 of the 2009 World Series.
