We were met backstage by some WWF people who were leading us into the locker room area, and we were brought to Randy to say hello. There were a bunch of other wrestlers around, which was really cool but there was one problem: the good guys were hanging out and being cordial to the bad guys! Seeing good guys like Brett Hart sharing laughs with bad guys like Jake "The Snake" Roberts was almost traumatic to see; like seeing your Dad french kiss your aunt. It simply wasn't supposed to happen.2. Crooked forest. Via.
I was sad, scared and confused. I gathered up the courage to ask why the Good Guys were friends with the Bad Guys. Randy said, "We're not. We're just tricking them. You'll see."
After this, a WWF rep was showing us some other areas of the backstage. I don't remember what we saw, but I know when we circled back to the area where Randy was, all of the wrestlers I had seen before were back in character. Bad guys were yelling at Good Guys about how they were going to kick their butt and Good Guys were holding each other back from attacking the bad guys.
This. Was. Awesome. It IS real! Of course it is!
Randy didn't know me too well, but he cared enough about a young fan and professional wrestling to keep the illusion and innocence alive.

Sorm Chasers
A Canadian storm chaser following the tornados in the United States Midwest says Canada needs to do more to alert residents of extreme weather, especially after witnessing devastation that could have been even worse, in Joplin, Missouri.
“Had there not been warnings, we could be talking about thousands, or ten’s of thousands that could've been killed,” Greg Johnson said from his hotel room in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
In the end over 100 people were killed, but the alarm system in place in the United States alerted people 20 minutes before the tornado hit. For many people, five minutes warning is enough to find shelter.
“It makes a world of difference,” Johnson said. “The Joplin tornado went right through the heart of the city.”
In addition to loud alarms that sound when there’s a warning, text messages are sent out and the media instantly breaks into local and national programming.
Meanwhile, in Canada, Environment Canada only alerts residents through media releases and weather radio.
“The problem is if you're not paying attention to the media, or you're not paying attention to the internet, you're not going to get those watches or warnings,” Johnson explained.
There are ten interlocking radar sites on the Prairies, including one near Bethune, Sask., which pick up severe weather patterns long before they hit. It gives residents their first alert a storm is brewing.
“We will issue out a watch, usually about two or three hours in advance,” Gregg Walters, Environment Canada’s Warning Preparedness Meteorologist for Saskatchewan said. “When you have a watch for your area, you should actually probably pay closer attention to any sort of weather reports.”
Johnson believes more can be done before this summer, which he says could be a busy one for extreme weather.
“There is forecasting that says ‘You know what? Canada, look out. We've got a busy July coming up’,” Johnson explained.
With the hopes no “Joplins” happen in Saskatchewan.

The Fort Worth Ruling Oligarchy's Trinity River Vision Boondoggle's Citizens Advisory Committee
A few minutes ago, someone claiming to be one of Fort Worth's potential next mayor's ex-girlfriends, sent me a link to a page on the Trinity River Vision Boondoggle website, telling me she thought I might find it interesting.
I find a lot of things interesting. What I found when I went to this link was more bizarre than interesting. Okay, maybe it was interestingly bizarre.
The page in question on the TRVB website is titled "Citizens Advisory Committee."
Under the heading "Citizens Advisory Committee" there is a paragraph describing the goal of this advising committee made up of citizens.....
To assure that each element of the Trinity River Vision project is designed and delivered with the needs and wants of the community in mind, an advisory board was created to provide the project partners with direction and feedback throughout the project timeline.
Well, now, is that not a fascinating thing? A committee of 64 citizens has been created to make sure that each and every element of the Trinity River Vision project is done with the needs and wants of the community in mind. Giving direction and feedback.
Was it this committee who got feedback from the Fort Worth community indicating the people of Fort Worth desperately wanted the world's premiere wakeboarding lake? Is this the answer I have long sought, as to how this goofy lake, which few will use, came to be?
I recognize some of the names on the committee. Kenneth Barr. Didn't he used to be mayor? Then go to work for Chesapeake Energy? Well, it is only fair that you have some people who are members of the Fort Worth Ruling Oligarchy on this committee.
Kathleen Hicks. Isn't she a Fort Worth Councilwoman? Well, it's only fair that you include some people already in office on a committee of citizens helping direct something you already have input into, due to the office you've been elected to.
Melody Johnson. The disgraced Fort Worth Independent School District Superintendent. It seems fair to include an ordinary citizen like this on such a committee. Now that she is resigning as Superintendent is Melody keeping on this important committee helping guide the TRV Boondoggle? From what I've read, Ms. Johnson is a bit of a boondoggle expert. She is likely quite helpful.
Betsy Price. Now, that seems a sensible pick of an ordinary citizen for such a committee. I think Ms. Price is currently some sort of tax collector for Tarrant County. And I believe she is the Fort Worth Ruling Oligarchy's pick to be Fort Worth's next mayor.
Danny Scarth. Another highly regarded Fort Worth City Councilman. And ordinary citizen. Excellent choice, TRV.
Andy Taft. Why I get email from Andy Taft. He's the president or czar or something of the Downtown Fort Worth Association. I'm glad the TRV picked people with absolutely no vested interest in the TRV project to be on this committee.
Julie Wilson. The very last name on the list, due to her name starting with a "W." I think Julie Wilson is some sort of shill for Chesapeake Energy. Makes sense to have a shill for Chesapeake on a citizen's committee helping make sure that the concerns of all the citizens of Fort Worth are taken in to account.
Are there records kept of this committee's meetings? Can one find out what input they have given to the TRV project?
Are any of the people who's property has been taken, or will be taken, by eminent domain, on this list of citizens?
This makes two extremely goofy things from the Trinity River Vision Boondoggle in one day. I think the boondoggle is accelerating.

Walking Among Giant Yellow Flowers Today In Arlington's Veterans Park Thinking About Bad Girls Like Mother Nature & The Queen Of Wink
The hills were alive with a lot of color today. I'm not talking about the Tandy Hills. For all I know those hills are alive today with a lot of color, but not according to any eye witness account from my eyes.
The hills I saw alive, with a lot of color today, were the hills, well, glorified mounds, of Veterans Park in Arlington.
I was being a bit stir crazy this morning, a blogging and webpage making maniac. It is exhausting for me to spend more than a few hours of heavy duty thinking without a break.
I took off from here to go to Village Creek Natural Historic Area to talk to the Indian Spirits. But, that park was closed today, due to Village Creek being in water overload mode. So, I continued on another couple miles to Veterans Park.
There were some really big flowers being real colorful in Veterans Park today. I think I already said that.
My chronic typo problem continues to worsen. This morning the Queen of Wink humiliated me with a really bad one.
I typed "actua" when I meant to type "actual." The word "actua" totally changed the meaning of what I was saying, changing it from something like "Gar the Texan and I are going to an actual Hooters," to something like "Gar the Texan and I are joining a Canadian Charitable Organization in order to get some charitable attention from Hooters."
I really don't like it when hyper-intelligent people, like the Queen of Wink, use their intellectual advantage over me to make me feel even stupider than I already do. Like I said, it is humiliating. I can barely stand to log in to Facebook anymore, due to seeing that the Queen of Wink has scored yet one more Scrabble Bingo, while I can't even spell actual.
I did not walk for a very long distance today. I was not liking the humidity. I think the humidity was making my right knee hurt. Maybe I have arthritis that is acting up, due to what Elsie Hotpepper told me this afternoon, that being that we may be having a historically bad storm hitting North Texas in a few hours.
The maladies of getting ever more elderly really do get vexing after awhile. Reduced cerebral function manifesting itself in chronic typos. Failing body parts. Weakening vision. We won't talk about the other things that are in semi-fail mode.
I heard on the radio on my way to Veterans Park that I should have an Emergency Kit ready for an incoming emergency. I don't have an Emergency Kit ready. I do have flashlights strategically placed. I have a lantern I can find in the dark by using one of the strategically placed flashlights. I have a gas-powered cooking unit I can use to heat coffee and other essentials. I have water stored in several locations. I do not have much of a food supply. But, two grocery stores are within easy walking distance and could likely easily be looted if I get too hungry.
I am ready, Mother Nature. Hit me with your best shot.
I take that back. I just realized I sounded like George W. Bush telling the Iraqi insurgents to "Bring it on." I take it back, Mother Nature, I am not ready, please don't hit me with your best shot. Don't bring it on.

Angelina Jolie Takes Kids to 'Kung Fu Panda 2' Premiere (Photos)
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt hit the red carpet for the premiere of Jolie's new film, 'Kung Fu Panda 2' yesterday, and although the pair went into the theatre alone, they came out with a few extra things. Four of their six kids!
Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh snuck into Grauman's Chinese Theatre to hear their mom's voice in the DreamWorks animated film, and exited hand-in-hand with their very famous parents.
The only things missing from this family outing were the youngest two of the stylish Jolie-Pitt brood, twins Knox and Vivienne.
Zsa Zsa Gabor Awakens from Coma
After going into a coma following an emergency stomach surgery, Zsa Zsa Gabor awoke late last week with her husband, Prince von Anhalt, at her side. Although the 94-year-old actress is on the
mend, she is still having difficulty speaking and has been placed on a feeding tube.
"She's the only think I have, if she dies I don't have anybody else to live for," von Anhalt told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "She does not want to be left alone. I sleep in a couch with my feet dangling but that's ok, we made promises that we would take care of each other until the end. I know she would do the same for me."
As of last Friday, it was reported that Gabor may be heading home to continue her recovery early this week. But the legendary actress would still require intensive home care. According to von Anhalt, she can only say four words: "yes, no, hurts me, and darling."
A complication with a feeding tube due to an emergency stomach surgery is reported to have brought on the coma. But even with her series of health problems -- she has battled pneumonia, suffered a partial stroke and had one leg amputated in January due to infection -- von Anhalt says that it's her strong heart that keeps her going.
Teresa Giudice and Hubby Hit the Beach (Photo)
'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Teresa Giudice hit Miami Beach with her 'juicy' husband Joe over the weekend.
The mother of four girls wore a sparkly green bikini as she and her hubby enjoyed the warm weather and cooling off in the water. The pair were down in Florida as a part of the reality star's book tour for her family cookbook, Fabulicious!
Giudice has always said she puts family first, but that didn't seem to be the case on the premiere of this 'Housewives' season. She got into an explosive argument with the newest cast member, Melissa Gorga, who happens to also be her sister-in-law.
It looks like it will be yet another season full of fireworks for the 'Housewives' in the Garden State.
Lady Gaga Talks About Being Bullied at School on 'The View' (Video)
Lady Gaga said today on 'The View' that she was bullied at school as a kid, even though she had a "nice group of friends." It was an experience that has stuck with her as an adult, influenced her
decisions and her self-esteem, and even had an effect on how she communicated with her fans.
"I don't think I realized how deeply it affected me until I started to become more successful," said Gaga. "And suddenly there's lots of pressure and I had to be a role model and look inside myself and say, well, what do I have to offer?"
Gaga said she felt like she didn't have much to offer for a long time, and she recognizes that some of her fans are having similar struggles. In the music, she said, both Gaga and her fans "find liberation from our challenges and our identity struggles." In her previous identity, Gaga would not have been able to wear 10-inch platform shoes. Now the only problem is not falling.
LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian Honeymoon in Mexico
Newlyweds LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian finally left on their honeymoon Sunday-one month after they tied the knot, PEOPLE reports. The couple is vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Rimes and Cibrian weren't able to take an immediate honeymoon due to Rimes' work schedule but the country crooner told the magazine they were hoping to squeeze one in not long after the wedding.
"We have to go back to work right away. The next four to five weeks hopefully, we'll be able to take a honeymoon. That's the plan," she said.
The couple was photographed at Los Angeles International Airport as they prepared to depart on their trip. They were spotted Monday walking hand-in-hand on the beach at Esperanza Resort, where they are staying.
"Beautiful night on the beach!!!!" Rimes Tweeted Sunday night. "Going to sleep to the waves tonight!!!!" she added later.
On Monday, the singer also took to her Twitter page: "We've been out for 2 hrs on the beach and in the pool!"
Justin Bieber Is Seeking a Jay-Z Collaboration
Besides driving teenage girls crazy, Justin Bieber also has a few fans in the hip-hop world. The 17-year-old collaborated with Kanye West and Raekwon for the 'Runaway Love' remix and is hoping to raise the stakes for his next album.
"I would love to work with Jay-Z," Bieber told the BoomBox. "Just a cool fun record."
Coming off of an amazing couple of years that provided him hit records and a hit movie, Bieber, who took home a total of six awards at the Sunday (May 22) night Billboard Music Awards, remains humbled by his accolades. "I'm amazed to get any awards, but I really like the [Top] New Artist [award]. It's great to be acknowledged anywhere, but just to have that respect, it feels good."
As for that future Jay-Z and Bieber collaboration, that might not happen for a while considering the 'Blueprint 3' singer has been hard at work on a joint-album with West. Titled 'Watch the Throne,' the two rappers are reportedly finishing up the effort, so Bieber might have to wait a little before Jay-Z can pencil him into his schedule.
This year's Billboard Music Awards featured performances from the Black Eyed Peas, Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, the latter two who both performed with Britney Spears. The night's big winners included Usher and Rihanna who each took home three awards, and Beyonce who received the Millennium Award.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez Jet Off on a Romantic Vacation
After their public display of affection at the Billboard Music Awards, where Justin Bieber officially called Selena Gomez his girlfriend, the couple have reportedly gone off on a romantic vacation.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Bieber and Gomez are taking some well deserved time off in Hawaii. The couple was spotted walking to the beach in Maui on Monday.
"After working their asses off, they've carved out some serious time to hang out," a source told E! Online. "They're taking a well-deserved break together."
Bieber and Gomez are also planning to spend some quality time with their families, after the vacation.
Bieber just wrapped up his concert tour in Japan last week and Gomez was seen finishing the music video for her latest single, 'Love You Like a Love Song', last week.
Gomez's used pink tinted horses in the video shoot, which angered fellow singer Pink who tweeted, "If there are any animal activists around Malibu- at Leo Cabrillo State beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame."
President, Michelle Obama Chat With Royal Couple
As the Obamas continue their overseas tour in the U.K., they stopped at Buckingham Palace to meet the newlywed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who are fresh off their Seychelles honeymoon.
According to PEOPLE, Prince William and Kate Middleton had a quick chat with President and Michelle Obama before the visiting Americans headed to a special luncheon hosted by Queen Elizabeth.
It is believed the couples talked about the recent Royal Wedding, and the Brit's upcoming California visit, scheduled for July.
However, though they are certainly worldwide celebrities, Will and Kate are not working members of the Royal Family and were not present on the steps of Buckingham Palace to officially greet the American President and First Lady with the Queen.
They were also absent from the special luncheon and will not attend tonight's State Banquet, where over 200 royals and dignitaries will gather for dinner.
Will and Kate recently returned from their honeymoon in the Seychelles, which is said to have cost $700,000.
LeAnn Rimes Shows off Teeny Bikini Body (Photo)
LeAnn Rimes is living la vida loca on her honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico -- or at least her teeny bikini looks like it's ready to party. Rimes and her new hubby, Eddie Cibrian, have been
catching some rays south of the border during their romantic post-wedding getaway. The pair tied the knot in an intimate ceremony last month.
Rimes showed off her toned bod in a rhinestone studded, champagne colored bikini.
"They were very affectionate, always kissing, hugging, holding hands and laughing throughout the day," a source told Us Magazine.
Although Rimes took a lot of heat pre-wedding for her dramatic weight loss, the country crooner looks happy and healthy.
Maria Shriver Hires Detective to Probe Arnold Schwarzenegger's Past
Maria Shriver is done living in the dark -- she has hired a private investigator to dig into her husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger's, past as she prepares a strategy for her divorce proceedings, according to Radar Online.
Shriver is reportedly suspicious that Schwarzenegger may have fathered more than one extra-marital child -- as many, including those close to the family, say he has.
"The investigator will likely look into the claims that he fathered multiple children, outside their marriage," a source told Radar. "Maria has heard the rumors and she wants to find out one way or another, if those claims are true."
Shriver has also hired pricey LA attorney, Laura Wasser, to handle the divorce proceedings, a case that will most likely land Shriver a mega-million dollar payout -- the couple is reported to be worth $200 to $400 million. Although the pair may have a pre-nuptial agreement in place, California law allows such an agreement to be challenged in court.
"Maria is leaving no stone unturned and she has authorized a private detective to gather personal and business information about Arnold," the source said. "Maria needs and wants to know exactly what she is dealing with."
Shriver's PI will also look into how exactly Schwarzenegger was able to financially support Mildred Patricia Baena, the mother of his love child (who is now 13-years-old), without Shriver's knowledge.
"Maria wants to know exactly how much money Patty received from Arnold ... She wants to know everything, period," the insider continued.
No camera needed, Schwarzenegger's life seems to be turning into one of his on-screen thrillers.

Liger
Two liger cubs - a cross between a male lion and a female tiger - are being nursed by a dog at a zoo in Weihai, eastern China.
Four cubs were born at the Xixiakou Wildlife Zoo earlier this month but only two survived.
The mother stopped feeding the cubs after a few days so the dog, which had recently had its own puppies, was enlisted to help.
Ligers are extremely rare and are thought to only be born in captivity.
Zoo spokesman Cong Wen said it was not clear why the tiger had stopped feeding her cubs, the Associated Press reports.
But she said that after some initial problems, the pair were feeding well from their canine stepmother.
Although they are a different species, tigers and lions are able to breed together.
Ligers are the largest known cat, usually growing much larger than either parent.

Peacock
Republican businessman Barrow Peacock of Shreveport today announced he would be a candidate for the District 37 seat in the Louisiana state Senate.
The seat is being vacated by state Sen. B.L. "Buddy Shaw," who announced in January he will not run for re-election.
Just after Shaw's announcement, state Rep. Jane Smith (R-Dist. 8, Bossier), who is being term-limited out of the state House of Representatives at the end of her present term, announced on Jan. 18 her intentions to run for the District 37 seat.
District 37 is split between Shreveport and Bossier, with Shreveport having 53% of the vote to Bossier's 47%. The district saw few changes in this year's reapportionment other than a 4% drop in minority voters (from 24% to 29%).
Peacock, 41, is a partner in BHB Properties, a Shreveport investment and real estate firm. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and B. A. in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University. A licensed Certified Internal Auditor, Peacock is a Louisiana Notary Public, and holds a Louisiana real estate license.
"For too long Louisiana has taxed too much and spent too much. Louisiana hasn't grown, the government has," Peacock said.
He supports term limits, will oppose new taxes, supports limiting the size of government, seeks to promote conservative values in Louisiana, would oppose any attempt to bring back the Stelly Tax, and would work to create a "Job Friendly" Louisiana.
Peacock serves as an elected member of the Louisiana State Republican Central Committee.
In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of Christus Schumpert Health Foundation, the Board of Directors of Louisiana Association for the Blind, and the Board of Directors of the Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana, on which he serves also as Finance Chairman. He is a member of the National Rifle Association, the Shreveport Rotary Club, a holder of a Louisiana Concealed Handgun permit, and serves as an Auxiliary
Deputy Sheriff in Caddo Parish.
He is married to the former Melanie Fuller and they are the parents of three sons. They are members of First Methodist Church in Shreveport.
The election is scheduled for October 22.

NOOK
Barnes & Noble made a splash last November with the launch of the $249 Nook Color, the first mainstream dedicated electronic reader with a full-color touch-screen. And the bookseller recently pushed out a major software upgrade for Nook Color to widen the appeal of its "reader tablet."
But Barnes & Noble believes there's more of a mainstream market for a less expensive dedicated black and white Nook reader.
The result is the all-new Nook touchscreen eInk reader introduced at a New York City event by Barnes & Noble CEO William Lynch. The new device weighs less than 7.5 ounces, or 35% lighter and 15% thinner than the original Nook Wi-Fi was when it came out about a year and a half ago
The latest Nook fetches $139, which puts it above the $114 Amazon is charging for a Kindle with ads.
Barnes & Noble is taking pre-orders now; the device ships on or about June 10 and will be sold online and in physical Barnes & Noble and partner stores. "Our stores will continue to be at the center of the Barnes & Noble story," Lynch says.
The company claims more than 25% of the digital book market.
Arguably the biggest innovation in the new Nook is a (sealed) battery the company says can last up to two months on a single charge, double what Amazon is stating for the Kindle.
The new Wi-Fi only device will replace the original black and white Nook Wi-Fi only and Nook 3G readers, when supplies of the older models run out. (Until that happens you can get older Nooks at reduced prices of $119 and $169, respectively.)
The new Nook does not provide a 3G version, which may put off readers who don't have Wi-Fi access when they are on the go. "When you add a 3G wireless radio … that puts the price point up and we're not seeing the same amount of sales we're getting on the Wi-Fi," Lynch told me.
But Barnes & Noble does believe there are separate markets for its color and black and white readers. Lynch says the company has sold millions of Nooks to date and plan to sell millions more, but he wouldn't disclose specific numbers or break out the mix among color and the black and white devices.
He said he's not concerned about cannibalizing the market for the Nook Color. "Nook Color has been selling so well," he says. "There are two big segments out there." Though digital has the momentum, Lynch also believes physical books will hold their own for the next three to five years out.
In addition to the bolstered battery, Barnes & Noble says the new Nook has 50 percent more contrast, 80% less "flashing" and provides fast page turning and scanning features. Through the software on the device, readers can get recommendations of other books to read based on what's already in their library. The Nook bookstore has more than two million digital titles. And Barnes & Noble incorporates various lending and social sharing features.
The screen seemed responsive to my light touch during the brief period in which I got to hold the device.
Nook comes with 2GB of internal memory, which can hold about 1000 books; you can add an optional memory card to up the storage capacity to 32GB. It's built on top of a version of Google's Android operating system. Readers can choose from 7 font sizes and 6 font styles.
