Iran offers modest new haircut guidelines for men | General Headlines | Comcast.net

A couple of days ago we told you the story of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the 42 year old mother who was first lashed 99 times and then sentenced to death by stoning in the Islamic Republic of Iran for her alleged adultery. I suppose in an attempt to show they are not totally barbaric misogynists and can be equally oppressive (to a point) with its male citizens, Iran's Ministry of Culture may be releasing a list of proposed culturally appropriate haircuts for men. And male attire may soon be cracked down upon in the future as well.

These proposed changes were introduced by an independent group that runs the "Veil and Modesty Festival".

You can see some of the more popular approved styles.....the MONKEES inspired Mike Nesmith, the retro-countryish Conway Twitty, and my favorite, The Bernardo, once used by the original Broadway cast of WESTSIDE STORY.

Sideburn lengths can be Army/Air Force styled mid-ear, or more liberal....for Iran..."The Riverboat Gambler".

What....no Mullets?
