Declaring This "A Former Half Term Governor of Alaska Free Blog"!!!
Last week I posted two entries about Bristol Palin's mother, and after doing so I tossed and turned in bed and asked myself....."Why am I wasting my time on a person who knows so little about so much?" And I thought about getting out of bed, getting online, and declaring this an "SP free" blog for the immediate future.
But I didn't. And I should have.
I think the last straw was the botching of "the Sputnik Moment", and Greta Van Susteren giving her a pass on her ignorance during an interview on Fox News after President Obama's State of the Union message. And then came my moment of clarity....few Republicans or conservatives will publicly challenge her lack of knowledge on even the most basic concepts. And those on the left who criticize her are immediately labeled the enemy and the elites by the former Guv and her supporters.
So, again, I asked myself....why bother trying to shine a light on her ignorance to people who can't handle the truth, and keep on preaching to the choir again and again?
Earlier today, I mentioned my thoughts on Sue's blog in her comments section. I was feeling the effects of being Momma Grizzed out
And strangely....I wasn't alone. Little did I know Dana Milbank of The Washington Post had declared on January 21st that he was making February an "SP" free month. It seems that Milbank has written a whopping 42 articles or blogs about Momma Grizzly and has started feeling guilty about it.
Think about it. Every time any media pundit, journalist, talking head, or blogger mentions her she gets free publicity. And as it turns out, I'm as guilty as the next guy- between September 2008 and January 2011 this blog has tagged the former half term governor of Alaska 81 times!!!!!
Yeah, it shocked me too.
Dana Milibank has organized a campaign to make February an "SP" free month. And as I just TWEETED moments ago....I'm in! Better late than never.
Momma Grizzly....no mas!!!!
Well.... at least through February....then go through Lent and on to Easter.
Let's take this one step at a time.
(Oh what the hell...I'll tag her! For old time's sake).

Palin 'favorites' photo that claims Obama is a 'Taliban Muslim'
From the WASHINGTON POST.
This is really disgraceful.
Whatever you think of Barack Obama, he's the President of the United States and we're at war against the Taliban. I'd expect something like this from a soulless troll like Ann Coulter, but Sarah Palin is supposedly one of the leaders of the Republican Party.....and it appears a candidate from the presidency.
Click the link below for the story and see the photo from FACEBOOK that claims Barack Obama is "an illegally elected Taliban Muslim", favorited by the half term former Governor of Alaska.
"Refudiate" that, Ms. Palin.

44 - One Nation rally attendance: Does it matter?
Interesting take by The Washington Post on the size of the crowd of the One Nation Rally in DC this weekend. Some of the comments by readers have erupted into a proverbial foodfight.
But my favorite quote was from the Associated Press that "the crowd was 'less dense' than the one that greeted Glenn Beck on August 28th".
And I wholeheartedly agree; progressive crowds are generally "less dense" than conservative ones.

Life In The Totalitarian State; Day Six; Legalizing Pot in California....AND DC?
Some conservative pundits have stated that the enactment of the HealthCare Reform Bill would lead to socialism and totalitarianism in the United States. This is my on going diary charting life under the boot of American totalitarianism.
Well, its been six days since the signing of the healthcare reform bill, and more signs that the country is going to hell in a handbasket.
Today, Palm Sunday, I went to mass....and the crucifix on the altar was draped with a red cloth!!!! And the priest was wearing red vestments as well. It can only mean one thing....even the Catholic Church (US version only) has....well, do I have to spell it out for ya?
And then this bit of news from the Washington Post....California could be legalizing pot this year...and the District of Columbia could be next!.
It could be a plot- what if marijuana was legalized in DC. If you think that things moved slowly in Congress before, just wait. Orrin Hatch bobbing his head up and down listening to MOTORHEAD. John Boehner going before the House and saying in a monotone, "Hell no you can't...oh- I said this before? Really? Cool....ahhh what was I so pissed off about? Oh....okay- anybody see my smokes?....heheheeheh!"
Not to mention the proliferation of BASKIN AND ROBBINS, BEN AND JERRY'S, and Häagen-Dazs franchises sprouting up on the National Mall opposite the Capitol!
Can you imagine a government office reduced to THIS???? Check out this video...
WOW!!! On second thought, man....this this totalitarian stuff might not be so bad after all....
Gotta stop.....I forgot what I was going to say.
Anybody remember what I did with those SNICKERS?

Daily Kos: Cantor's story unravels
Republican House Minority Whip Eric Cantor has accused Democratic leadership of "fanning the flames" in the wake of at least ten acts of vandalism or menacing threats geared at Democratic lawmakers after the passage of the Healthcare Reform Bill this weekend.
Cantor also stated that his office in Richmond was fired on when a a bullet struck a window last week.
But there is a problem with this story...the police have said that the window was struck with a downward spiral, meaning it was shot into the air, and it minimizes the chances that Cantor's office was the intended target.
I guess its time for a new "Magic Bullet" for the 21st Century.
(DISCLAIMER!!!!.....In no way am I advocating indiscriminately shooting bullets, arrows, slingshots, etc into the air in the vicinity of Congressmen or any elected official, or any other creature living or dead. Amen)

Kathleen Parker - Who will stand against Uganda's brutal anti-gay law? - washingtonpost.com
An important column from The Washington Post's Kathleen Parker. In Uganda there is proposed legislation to execute people for homosexuality. Even if it never becomes so extreme that gays are executed, the specter of imprisonment will be present.

Palin Assails Obama at Tea Party Meeting - NYTimes.com
Sarah Palin, the former Governor of Alaska, addressed the members attending the Tea Party Convention in Nashville on Saturday night, picking up a nifty $100,000 speaking fee to hammer the President of the United States.
The 1,100 flagwaving populists in the crowd who want "to take back America" paid $549 each to attend the events. Another 500 persons paid $349 each to see Palin's speech alone.
Patriotism for profit.
What a concept!
Its called helping America to get back on its economic feet by filling your pockets first.
