Google's Blogger Has Had A Major Meltdown But Is Now Back Working

On the left is the message being seen all over the world ever since yesterday. Google's Blogger program suffered a major meltdown.

Apparently the problem arose during some routine maintenance. Others are saying the problem occurred during the rollout of an upgrade to Blogger.

To fix the problem Google removed all posts and comments made from some point in time on Wednesday. The status message from Google has been saying those posts and comments are being restored.

I have a big blog backlog

If you are reading this it means Blogger is back is blog mode. I won't know til I hit the publish button. I'm going to do that and then go on a walk.

And take care of my big blog backlog later.

NYC transit union chief seeks to unmask blogger | Technology Headlines | Comcast.net

Hey guys...

I had a pretty busy day and found myself at a loss as far as writing something original. Also, I just felt the need to back off from the political for a day or two....well almost.

I did find an interesting article from Jennifer Peltz of the Associated Press that should be of interest to all bloggers that I'd like to share. Suppose you decided to take on a public figure in your blog, and the subject decided what you were saying wasn't accurate or fair. And suppose the person you're writing about tried to get a court order to get Google or Wordpress, or any other host you could be using to disclose your identity.

Something like that is going on the BLOGSPOT right now. The head of New York City's transit union, John Samuelsen, went to court to find out the identity of the blogger who's been blasting him, inaccurately and unfairly he claims, in an attempt to sully his reputation among union members.

Woman sues Google over Utah walking directions | General Headlines | Comcast.net

I'll be back on regular schedule tomorrow with political and social commentary....but until then, I thought I'd share a story about a woman who is suing GOOGLE over allegedly faulty directions she downloaded to get her from one end of Park City, Utah, to another.

Errrr....I haven't been to Park City since the 1970's, but when I was there I could swear there were more deer than permanent human residents (latest available population figures have it at7,371 , and average age 32.7). Bottomline...it's a pretty small town.

And if I remember my courses in personal law...isn't the concept of "reasonable care" a two way street.

You have to read this one, ladies and gents.
