NPC

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its premier performance, Northland Pioneer College will be presenting the musical "Grease," Nov. 10-12 and 17-19. Auditions will be Tuesday, Aug. 16, and Wednesday, Aug. 17, with call-back sessions Thursday, Aug. 18, from 6:30-10 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center on the Snowflake/Taylor - Silver Creek Campus.
"There are roles for nine men and eight women, plus chorus members," said Dr. Michael Solomonson, who will be directing the NPC production. The audition process will consist of a vocal, dance and acting component. "Those interested in auditioning for ‘Grease' should prepare 16 bars to sing from a Broadway-style show tune and bring a copy of the music for the provided accompanist." Individuals should dress in clothing allowing free physical movement for the dance audition. "We'll also be doing cold readings from the script for the acting audition," added Solomonson.
Auditions will be occurring the week before the fall semester officially begins. Those cast in the show must enroll in Play Production I or II (SPT 200 or 201), that earn students three credits.
For additional audition information, contact Dr. Michael Solomonson, (928) 536-6217, (800) 266-7845 ext. 6217, or e-mail michael.solomonson@npc.edu.
