Brett Favre

Say goodbye to Brett Favre the football player.
So he says.
The now-retired NFL QB told a Mississippi TV station that he is "starting a new career" and content to have the NFL in his rear-view mirror.
What's next?
"Could be coaching, could be TV," Favre told WDAM-TV. "Both of those are probably unlikely, at least anytime soon."
Favre, 41, filed his retirement papers with the NFL in January. His NFL-record streak of 297 straight starts ended in December after a concussion forced Favre from a game.
Favre appeared at a youth football clinic on Friday when he made his remarks. He said he has no concrete plans for any future work, but added he doesn't expect to become a full-time coach "anytime soon at any level."
In 2008 and 2009 Favre ended brief retirements to return to the NFL. But he consistently said last year he didn't anticipate returning to the NFL in 2011.
He acknowledged that cutting the cord, especially once the season begins, could be tough.
"I'm sure there will come a point where I miss that," Favre said. "And I'll always miss the guys in the locker room, winning and losing together. There's no substitute for that."
