The extremist Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, KS....which has the website "godhatesfags.com"....will be picketing the funeral of actress Dixie Carter tomorrow (April 15) in McLemoreville, TN at that city's United Methodist Church.
Ms Carter, 70, who died of complications of endometrial cancer on Saturday, was married to fellow actor Hal Holbrook.
Rather than try to explain the twisted logic of these bigoted excuses for Christians, who target homosexuals and all others they consider to be sinners, here's the text taken from their page for "Upcoming Picket Schedules"
The words are those of the Westboro Baptist Church, and not this blogger.
McLemoresville "United Methodist Church W. College St. & Main St. WBC to picket the funeral of Dixie Carter reminding the living of their duty to obey God. Dixie Carter lived her life in adultery. She divorced her husband and married two other men along the way. God says that is living in adultery! Matthew 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. She taught her daughters and the young people of this nation that God is a liar. Leading by example she says it's ok to change your sex partners as often as you change you filthy under garments. She used every minute of her life promoting filthy sin. She was loved of this nation because this nation is awash in filthy proud sinners - leading the way, of course, are your lying false prophets. Dixie Carter is in hell!"
Now my friends, there is more; the WBC also plans to picket several Catholic schools, a chapter of Hillel, and a Bon Jovi concert in St Petersburg. So along with hating gays and Dixie Carter, the good Christians of the WBC also hate Catholics, Jews, and middle aged rockers from Jersey.
I guess my being Catholic, a Democrat, and a Bon Jovi fan really puts me high on their fecal roster.
For the record....Dixie Carter, despite playing the liberal Julia Sugarbaker on Designing Women, was actually a registered Republican and a libertarian.....she sure had me fooled! Now that was acting.
Also for the record....the Westboro Baptist Church is headed by the Reverend Fred Phelps, and is not affiliated with any Baptist conventions or associations.
